We have the memories of getting to have Mc Donald's for lunch ... I can still remember eatting healthy Apple Pies & Cheese Burgers while we sat on rolled up carpet.
I can remember the orange lockers and standing in the stairwells as we socialized and caught up with everyone between classes during a 15 minute break.
We also lived in a time that was not so healthy for our lungs ... we all also gathered in that well known Smoking Court.
We were all ready to get out of there & grow up, but when we look back now we wish we could go back to the care free fun we had!
And we are the class that gave GHS the GHS that still stands at the site of the Original GHS!
Can you remember the fight song?
Who is the school that has the most spirit, who is the school that has the most fun? Everyone knows it's Grissom!
GO TIGERS!

Alexander McCool Obituary
Alexander A. McCool III of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024 at the age of 69.
Alex was born on May 28, 1954 to Alexander A. McCool Jr. and Genelle Wade McCool in Vicksburg, Mississippi, both deceased.
Alex, a 1972 graduate of Grissom High School, went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force, with stops in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Denver, Colorado. Alex furthered his education at Community College of Denver, receiving an Associate of Applied Science, then went on to receive a Precision Measuring Certificate from
Emily Griffith Technical College.
For 35 years, Alex gained experience in aerospace tooling set up, modifications and maintenance. His passion was ultimately realized when working for The Boeing Company at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, serving the many missions of NASA. During his career, Alex contributed to several missions, including the International Space Station, Artemis Space Launch Systems, Avenger, Arrow, and Air Force satellites.
Alex loved the outdoors including camping, hiking, fishing, geocaching, cars, and sports especially Alabama football. He had a contagious laugh, always had something interesting to say, and was proud of his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jennifer, two sons, Alexander A. McCool IV (Chelsea) and Nicholas McCool and sister, Janet Cooper (Jack).
In lieu of funeral services, we ask that all who wish to honor his years working with NASA to make a donation to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Education Foundation.

This past Saturday, Alex’s wife Jennifer McCool sent me a text saying “that Alex has been really sick for the last couple of months and was moved into hospice yesterday.”
I am sad to say that Alex McCool passed peacefully at 2:07 this morning. They are not planning a service, as this was Alex’s wish. I will post the obit after I recieve it. Please keep his family in your prayers ??????
Happy Birthday Martha!

Lisa's smile always made my heart smile and she was always a joy to be around. I treasure the many lunches we had together after reconnecting when I moved back to Huntsville. Memories of Lisa will remain in all of our hearts forever, as she was a true gem. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
